Peeps Show IV – washingtonpost.com

It takes a special combination of genius and crazy to come up with this great diorama.

These specialists are commonly referred to as Seabees.  They have been present to all major US engagements since their creation during WWII. Only one Seabee has earned the Medal of Honor, Construction Mechanic Third Class Marvin Glenn Shields.

karlaakins:

What kind of car is this? Is it a jag? I don’t think so, but I could be wrong. Whatever it is, it’s gorgeous and I want one. I took this in rush hour traffic in Indianapolis. Actually, my son took it.

Aston Martin DB9. By the way, Jaguar and Aston Martin shared chassis designs for a few years, so there quite a few Jaguar and Aston Martin models that look close to identical if it wasn’t for the front end grill and tail light clusters.

Meet Schnoz- Fairfax County, Virginia

Pretty cool news from my county:

Franconia Police District – A Fairfax County bloodhound, and his handler, successfully tracked and located a woman who had been missing in the woods of Mason Neck State Park for around two days. Park rangers were scouring the trails of the park after they found an abandoned vehicle on Monday, March 22. Park authorities contacted Fairfax County Police for assistance and a bloodhound named Schnoz went to work. At around 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, Schnoz and Master Police Officer Pete Masood located the 53-year-old Lorton-area woman amidst thick brush, leaves and forest undergrowth. She was disoriented and suffering from hypothermia but was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital where she was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Just three weeks ago, Schnoz successfully tracked down a suspect wanted in an armed carjacking in the Springfield area.

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

This is my 20-pound bear, it means I have lost 20 pounds under the Nutrisystem diet. The 10-pound (red) bear is MIA, I am still trying to figure out how to get them to send it to me.

Yes, my fat ass has been on a diet since 1/22/2010. 29 pounds lost so far just by eating right and doing some moderate exercise (mostly watching TV while on the treadmill). And no, I am not starving myself, but the days of the 1111 calories (no joke) Blackened Chicken Caesar burrito are sadly over. And death by carbs is sadly out of the question.
