Slashdot News Story | Mainstream Press “Cringes” At Win7 Launch PartiesTuesday, September 29th, 2009Slashdot News Story | Mainstream Press “Cringes” At Win7 Launch Parties: Dumb asses are playing right into Microsoft’s hand. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Microsoft is brilliantly getting everyone talking about Windows 7. Yes, the commercial sucks horribly, and people won’t stop sharing it to EVERYONE. Give it another week and I dare you to show me one person that uses a computer and hasn’t heard about Windows 7. This week’s Caturday thread is about zombies.Saturday, September 26th, 2009This week’s Caturday thread is about zombies. Crispy Gamer | The 60-Buck DilemmaFriday, September 25th, 2009Crispy Gamer | The 60-Buck Dilemma: The article misses a very important part of the pricing: the platform license. You can’t sell a game for ANY platform without permission from either Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo. If you decide to open a game company tomorrow, when your game is ready you can’t simply press DVDs and send them to Best Buy. Instead you need to make a deal with each platform owner so you can produce the discs that will play on that console. In the Microsoft case, they are not stupid. You will notice that after X months, the price drops to a lower tier. Your $60 game is now $40, then $30 or $20. I have gotten some fantastic deals on the $20-$30 bin. And yes, I am a big supporter of the bang for the buck concept. I will happily pay $60 for a 100-hour game, but I’ll bitch and moan before paying the same for a game that won’t give me more than 20 hours of entertainment. What Network Neutrality Is REALLY AboutThursday, September 24th, 2009What Network Neutrality Is REALLY About: Fantastic op ed on the current barrage of FUD campaigns against network neutrality. Why won’t the US Attorney for CO prosecute Stolen Valor Act cases?Thursday, September 24th, 2009Why won’t the US Attorney for CO prosecute Stolen Valor Act cases?: This is simply revolting. This piece of shit blatantly presents himself as a combat decorated and wounded US Marine, and then goes on to harm the efforts to support our veterans, and he is not even going to be prosecuted? Isn’t Colorado a military state? You couldn’t pull this kind of bullshit in Virginia, that’s for sure. The Attorney General here (Bill Mims as of February 2009) declines to prosecute somebody like that piece of shit and they’ll lynch him on the steps of the state capitol. The ad is simply brilliant. Firefox To Replace Menus With Office RibbonWednesday, September 23rd, 2009Firefox To Replace Menus With Office Ribbon: Can’t they better spend that energy in making Firefox not suck so hard on Windows and OSX? Firefox is a RAM whore! Why not fix that first and then worry about making the menus pretty? |
