Not only is this a no-brainer, but the fact that the government has to even talk about enforcing these caps tells us that there is something seriously wrong in which corporate America is being run.

The first responsibility of the CEO of a company, public or private, is to get a return to his investors. Nobody invests just so they can lose money, they do it so they can make money in the process, it is how we run this country.

Why would executives feel entitled to an obscene salary when they are seriously underperforming? If you are a captain of the industry, and thanks to your leaership your company is raking it like crazy, then it is obvious that you are entitled to get paid handsomely. But if your company is in the pits, to the point that it is going to die unless it becomes nationalized, then how in the fucking hell can you possibly expect to get paid?

When doctors kill people, they get sued. Same goes for engineers (the problem with engineers is that we stand to kill lots of people at the same time due to our mistakes, while doctors usually kill one patient at a time). Why should corporate executives be immune from this concept?

At the very least, they should be fired for incompetency. Even better, check the books, see what they did with the money.

Once again UPS has proceeded to rape me over the payment of anything better than 3-5 ultra budget ground shipping. Every single god damn time I pay for better than that, they let me down. So does FEDEX. Right now Ivette is doing her little victory dance (“I-told-you-sooooo”).

This is how absurd this whole situation is:

1. The item ordered was OS X 10.5.1, retail price $129.

2. Amazon discounted the hell out of it, then almost brought it back to MSRP once UPS Next Day delivery was added to the order: $127.47

3. The item was shipped from Laurel, MD. That’s north of DC.

4. The UPS driver for the first leg did fantastic time, he/she made it to Chantilly, VA (which is south of here) in exactly one hour. That’s about 46 miles according to Google Maps. I guess the traffic was nonexistent at 1:30 AM.

5. The box was scanned for delivery at 6:13 AM.

6. The box entered the twilight zone until around 7:50 PM, when its status was magically changed to what it shows on the screen capture.

Fuckers.

The sad thing is that at $127.47, even if it takes two days, it is cheaper than paying $129, plus sales tax, plus gas to drive to the closest retailer that carries it, a 15-mile or so round trip.

I know, just horrible.
